A man has been arrested after he tried to steal money from a hotel at Mile End.

Police will allege that about 10.30pm on Friday 28 August, the man walked behind the bar area of a Mile End hotel and attempted to steal cash from the till.

A staff member closed the till on the suspect’s hands and a scuffle ensued. There were no injuries to staff, and the suspect fled the scene.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 29 October.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
