Driver pleads not guilty to driving dangerously before crash that killed Sophia Naismith

Alexander Campbell has pleaded not guilty to driving dangerously before a crash that killed teenager Sophia Naismith in Adelaide’s west in June 2019.

The Elizabeth North man was driving a Lamborghini when he struck the 15-year-old and her friend Jordan Callea, and was charged with causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

He will reappear in court in May.

Ms Naismith was hit by the Lamborghini Hurracan on the footpath in front of the House of Tien restaurant at Glengowrie on June 22, 2019.

Mr Campbell’s lawyer Craig Caldicott had previously indicated his client intended to plead not guilty.

More to come.
